Keaton Energy Holding, South Africa. We invested
in a minority stake of Keaton Energy Holding early
2011. Listed on the Johannesburg stock exchange,
this company is active in exploration and mining
in South Africa. As such, it controls and operates
four large mines in the country as well as other
smaller projects under development. Gunvor has
acquired capacity at RBCT.
Kolmar Group, (Sakha Republic (Yakutia), Russia)
The acquisition of the minority stake (30%) of
Kolmar Group is to be finalized by end of 2011.
Kolmar Group is a coking coal mining and
processing company operating several mines
within Chulmakan and Denisovsky coalfields of
Eastern Siberia of Russia. Kolmar Group owns
licenses for open pit and underground mining
production and is developing new projects within
these exploration areas.
Signal Peak ( Montana, USA)
Gunvor has acquired a 33% stake in the Signal
Peak coal mine, which produced 10 million raw
tons of coal in 2010 and the target is to achieve,
at full production, approximately 18-20 million
raw tons per year.
